Rate Naija: Terra Kulture

TERRA KULTURE, Arts Venue, African/Intercontinental Restaurant
Plot 1376, Tiamiyu Savage, Victoria Island, Lagos

I love Terra Kulture. No, let me correct that, I LOVE Terra Kulture. I think they have managed to strike a fine and awesome balance between being this artsy, alternative joint while retaining some modernity. It is a very appealing place, honestly.

I have been here quite a couple of times and I’ve never walked away with a complaint. That “feeling” I keep talking about? I get it here at Terra Kulture every single time. Whether it’s their grilled prawns, grilled mixed platter, grilled catfish, fried plantain (don’t ever go to Terra Kulture and leave without ordering a side of their plantain!!!!), chicken pepper soup, fried yam chips, egg and corned beef stew….Lawd Haysus, it’s all GREAT food and relatively healthy fare too! I should know, I’ve had all of the dishes listed and more.

Better yet, it’s all affordable, especially compared to the many expensive restaurants Lagos is burdened with so you don’t even have to break bank to have yourself a good time here. Throw in the adequate customer service, their in-house bookstore with an expansive African literature selection, their interesting art gallery upstairs and the variety of alternative events (such as their Sunday plays which sadly I’ve never attended) and Terra Kulture is a WIN.

Bottom line  - I’ll recommend Terra Kulture all day, any day, every day. The end.

Pros:
Multi-purpose venue
Food. Good food. Great food. Plenty of variety and quantity.
Affordable!

Cons:
Their dessert menu gets a side-eye sha, especially their red velvet cake. In all the times I’ve been here, they have NEVER had red velvet cake. It’s like ah ah, bros, why dis tin dey your menu sef? Na only froots una too get all the time!

Ideas for improvement:
All we’re saying, give us red velvet.

4.3 stars out of 5
